3.8Analyze Menu

Analyze_Menu.pngThe Analyze menu contains commands that enable you to apply the defined loads to the members, input joint loads, combine load cases, solve the problem, and view the results.

3.8.1Member Loads

Allows you to apply the loads defined using the Define/Loads command to the defined members under defined load cases.

3.8.2Joint Loads

Allows you to input joint loads by specifying the joint to be loaded, the load case under which the load should be included, and inputting the forces and/or moments acting at the joint.

3.8.3Known Displacements

Allows you to input prescribed joint displacements by specifying the load case under which this displacement should be included and inputting the translational and/or rotational displacements occurring at the joint.

3.8.4Self Loads

Allows you to select the members whose self weight should be included in the predefined SELF load case.

3.8.5Load Combinations

Allows you to factor the defined load cases and combine them into load combinations under which the structure will be analyzed.

3.8.6Solve

Allows you to start the solution process. You can choose to optimize the model, specify the order of solution (first order or second order), and whether to save the matrices or not.

3.8.7Joint Results

After a successful solution, this command allows you to view joint displacements, joint rotations, member end forces, and member end moments under any specified load combination.

3.8.8Support Reactions

After a successful solution, this command allows you to view the fixed joints (supports) reactions under any specified load combination.

3.8.9Member Results

After a successful solution, this command allows you to view graphically and in text format, the local results of any member under any load combination. Local results may include in-plane and out-of plane moment, shear, deflection, as well as torsion and axial force. You can also view a member summary. All viewed graphs and results may be printed.

3.8.10Envelopes

After a successful solution, this command allows you to view graphically and in text format, the local results envelopes (maximum and minimum values for all load combinations) of any member. Envelope results include in-plane and out-of plane moment and shear, as well as torsion and axial force. All viewed graphs and results may be printed.

3.8.11Group Results

After a successful solution, this command allows you to view graphically and in tabular format, the local results envelopes (maximum and minimum values for all load combinations for all the members in a group) of any member group. Group results include in-plane and out-of plane moment and shear, as well as torsion and axial force. All viewed graphs and results may be printed.
