Equivalent Frame Method Moment Distribution

An essential ingredient for the analysis & design of concrete floor slabs using the Equivalent Frame Method (EFM) is the distribution of moments along the span of the slab. This application calculates the stiffness coefficients, carry-over factors, and fixed-end moment coefficients for slab-beam members, and the actual column stiffnesses and carry-over factors for column members. The application can calculate moment distribution constants using PCA Notes tables in Appendix 20A or exact equations derived using advanced structural analysis methods such as Column Analogy Method (CAM) and Moment Area Method (MAM). This application is designed exclusively for informative purposes and as a supplement to any hand-design calculations or models solved using the spSlab Software program.
