Analysis and Design of Concrete Foundation Systems
spMats is structural engineering software for analysis, design, and investigation of concrete foundation
systems including pile caps and slabs on grade.
Powered by a sophisticated FEM solver, spMats offers a clean and simple interface for developing and editing
models for structural foundations. From small simple column footings to large and complex industrial building
foundations, spMats features intuitive visual tools to create, run, and iterate on your models with confidence.
Organize your final foundation design results in a customizable report to create a professional project submittal.
spMats calculates foundation slab displacement, design moments, and the required reinforcement for any
foundation geometry and loading. For ground-supported slabs, the soil bearing pressure is calculated and
compared with allowable soil bearing capacity. For pile-supported foundations, results include pile reactions
in compression and tension where pile uplift occurs.
With a versatile user interface, spMats aids engineers worldwide to design spread and combined footings, pile
caps, wall footings, building and shear wall foundations, and industrial foundations. spMats offers design templates
for tank pads and equipment foundations including transmission and substation structural foundations.
Discover the powerful new features in spMats v10.50, the industry-leading
structural engineering software for reinforced concrete slab and foundation design. This update
enhances productivity, accuracy, and code compliance with improvements to reinforcement design, pile
reactions, drafting tools, mesh quality, and more.
The Most Powerful spMats Is Here!
The most significant upgrade to spMats since its inception features a pioneering
interface for intuitive modeling, fast results, logical reporting, and sophisticated tools all
cleverly integrated into a simple and friendly workspace.
Creating Models, Boundary Conditions, and Loading in spMats
Start with a template or create grids based on structural drawings to set up the
foundation geometry and restraints. Define and assign slabs, columns, piles, nodes, restraints, and
loads using familiar CAD tools to move, resize, duplicate, mirror, align and split objects.
Editing Models and Model Navigation in spMats
Open existing models from the project menu or recent files. Edit slabs, columns, grids,
loads, and other objects using the toolbar or graphical commands. Move or resize items, adjust slab dimensions,
and add grids, columns, or openings. Toggle display settings, use multiple viewports, and manage overlapping
slabs with the arrange tool.
spMats Solver Options, Mesh Optimization, Graphical Results and Tables
Adjust solver and mesh options to refine accuracy, then run the analysis. View soil pressure,
displacements, internal forces, and reinforcement through contour maps with customizable display settings.
Access the Tables Module to review inputs and outputs, filter ranges, and export results.
spMats Reporting Results and Import/Export Options
spMats features a modern reporting tool that allows users to view, customize, print,
and export reports in various formats. The tool helps generate professional project submittals with flexible
options to include as much or as little detail as needed. Users can also add detailed screenshots of diagrams
to better illustrate structural behavior within the reports.
spMats Templates Module
Templates in spMats offer predefined mat foundation systems, allowing users to
create models simply, quickly, and accurately. Users can select from various foundations categories
and customize parameters like dimensions, columns, soil, piles and loads. Models are ready for
analysis within minutes, with design results available for immediate review.
